Trip to Iowa in January

We left DC around 7:00 after dinner at the airport.
Beets!
French onion soup...which was ok.
Landed in Chicago...and got to Des Moines around midnight. We stayed with RJ's Iowa parents, Deb and Greg. In the morning we went to Neil Smith Prairie Learning Center.

We were with some of our good friends from St. John's Lutheran Church!
They went for a hike...

Beautiful Iowa Day!

Burr oak

Oak Savannah...

We sorted seeds for prairie reconstruction planting.

Next we head back to DSM to see dear friends.

Dynamic Drew
Drew and Adrianna, cherished moments!
A table full of good food, great friends and much love! Gusto's
We had a great time! But all good things eventually co e to an end...Monday morning I flew back to Virginia. Jim went to Minneapolis with the DSM office crew for the rest of the week.
I love coming to DSM, leaving is not much fun. I had a good flight.
Flew over Arlington Cemetery
Pentagon
Potomac
and into the Ronald Reagan Airport. I took the metro to King street,
walked up Commonwealth and noticed a lot of snow has melted.
I turned onto Linden,
my sidewalk,
my house.
While Jim was gone I taught everyday and managed to make a few new placemats.
I like them. Chickens are comforts to me, just like Peace signs and babies...(especially cuties named Mary.) I miss everyone already!
Peace!
