Alexandria and National Arboretum with Vivian and friends

Vivian and two of her friends from ISU flew into Alexandria on March 11th. They all arrived on different flights from Columbus, OH; Nebraska And Texas. We gathered them home to our place and had a yummy scallops and rice dish(no meat Friday). Later we took them down King Street and gave them a bit of our historical tour. Above you see Christ's Church, George Washington and Robert E. Lee's church. On Saturday, Brian and Leah went to DC with a map and ideas of where we thought they might like to go. Vivian worked on her research project and we did some shopping.
On Sunday we drove the car load to the National Arboretum.

Our first stop was the National Bonsai and Penjing Museum

Blooming Paper white

Bald Cypress is one of my favorite trees...we had one in our front yard in Altoona, Iowa. Very interesting to see it in Bonsaii

Next stop, National Herb Garden...fun to check out today and anticipate what a later trip will show us. We are happy it hasn't rained...yet!

I'm lichen the bench...🤓
Vivian is a pepper expert?

Next stop...National Capitol Columns.
Look at the Forsythia bush!

Young Burr Oaks, my favorite tree.
Into the woods...
Lo in' the trail bridges.

Getting darker at lunchtime...looks like rain?  Yep!
Ewwwww!
Okay, this is better!
Peace, until we come back for another visit...maybe my birthday?
