We started the night at Ella's wood fired pizza. It was Happy Hour! Appetizers, Sangria, great pizza and dessert. The waiter was wonderful and when I told him I loved lemon after ordering a lemon creme dessert he said he'd bring me a limoncello. I lit up like a Christmas tree and mentioned I could kiss him and he turned a bit red. Later the desserts came with 3 limoncellos! I kissed him when we left, and we will be back...SOON!
We started walking to the White House and the wind picked up, a chill in the air, almost felt like Fall!
Avery is our goddaughter, niece and daughter of my sister. She is currently in Medical school to become an OB Gyn. She was in DC for a National OB GYN conference this weekend and stayed with us. It was good to have FAMILY here! Avery has been to DC before, but had not seen MLK, or DC at night. SOOOOOOO, the walking begins...
DAR...we told her all about touring the DAR with her parents and that her father learned how to quilt...
We came home on the metro, Jim and I had over 18,000 steps from our walk around DC and a few blisters! But it was great fun showing it all to Avery! Hope she comes back soon!
