On October 2, Jim's mom came to visit with niece Isabelle and flew Vivian in from Columbus. We planned to attend the Wool and Fiber festival at Montpelier, but due to the Northeaster and potential hurricane Joaquin it was cancelled. So we made a new list of fun!
First, Larb, my comfort food of choice.
Walked by my kitty cat on the way to the Metro. Jim says it is his cat, but I will argue this.
First stop, Portrait and Art Gallery, and we are joining the Saturday morning knitting group.
They were awesome! Might have to return next time I have a free Saturday morning!
Looked at one of the new displays...
Skating in Central Park by Agnes Tait
The Justices, thought of Susan!
The Chuck Close of Bill Clinton
This is one of my comfort pieces!
Isabelle found one she really liked.
Isabelle enjoyed my other classic spot, love this!
Slurping noodles with the family...love!
Next stop, Library of Congress, with some other sights along the way.
The flag was at half mast for the lives lost in Oregon shooting.
Dreary weather, but a great day to spend with dear ones!
Home to Cuban pork masterly fixed by Chefs Jim and Vivian.
Next morning, a visit to see Martin Luther.
Strayer Circle on our way to Metro to get to DuPont Circle.
Paradisio Pizza, "Genoviese"...yum! Shopped at the used book stores, Looped (yarn shop) and Capital Teas. Took metro to Union Station, then hopped on the circulator bus to MLK.
Izzy is taking a selfie with MLK.
