White House Fall Garden Tour, 10-17-2015

A couple days ago I saw that this weekend was the fall tour wkd, and so I asked Jim if he would get up early Saturday to go get tickets...he said he would...good enough for me.
So this morning we got on the metro at 7:30 am and we were in line for tickets at 8:30.
We were behind about 1000 people? I overheard the park ranger say the first ones in line came at 5am. Yikes!
At 9:05 we moved in line, and we got to the window at 9:30.

We chose 1:00 tickets and went to the American History Smithsonian so that Jim could see the 3rd floor. this floor is all about presidents and has the inaugural ball gowns from First Ladies.
When finished we decided to try Ollies Trolley for burgers for lunch.
We were not impressed with our food, but we now know what it is like...been there...etc! Then we went to get in line for the tour.

Look at all of the people waiting! Wow!

Going through the gates...I'm so excited!
There is the monument from inside the gates...cool, huh?
Here we go...
There are LOTS of people, which makes it difficult to get good pictures, but here is a summary of what we saw...Enjoy! Happy Birthday Jacque!

View from Portico, see Jefferson Memorial in the distance!

West wing garden...with podium.

Guess who?

Proof we were there!
The band was playing...pinch me!

The vegetable gardens...

Jim was so happy on this tour...or maybe this is his Secret Service look!

See the guys on the roof?

There were pictures posted along the way of recent and former president family activities on White House grounds.
This sidewalk goes to the basketball court.

The guns, or police, were posted everywhere.
Time to go back out...
Goodbye!

Ouchie!

Renwick still hasn't opened...but we will go there soon as possible!
Went to Peet's for Chai

A good day!
In other news...
1. RJ's car (my old PT Cruiser) burned up, so here is a peek at his new wheels.
1989 Blue Cadillac, I think he should name her Tardis.

2. Birdie in the window, the one that did not fly away.
Jim's cat at the Metro
3. Vivian's new kitty
